These are very serious events, where people are mourning for the passed away soul and can get offended very easily with any behaviour that they find inappropriate.

Keeping this mind, we have come up with a blog post, where we discuss some general etiquette that we should follow while a part of funeral services.

Funeral Etiquette Guide-

Phone Usage-

Experts of online funeral services say that at any event throughout the funeral event, it is recommended to keep the phone off or at least "silent". Some people prefer keeping in the vibration mode, but any vibration in your phone will also distract people and pull their attention towards them.

Attendance-

If you have a strong feeling of becoming a part of the event and then, you should not contain yourself from attending the funeral. But if you feel that the family doesn’t want you to be there at the event, you should cease yourself and better step is to pray for the deceased soul in private at your home.

Arrival Time-

It is very important to reach at least 15-20 minutes before that scheduled stating of the event. These 15-20 minutes can be utilised to meet the family of the deceased, if they are there and also for finding an appropriate seat for you. You should ensure that you don’t arrive late at the event and if you do, make sure that you become its part without any distraction or disturbance in the event.

Emotional Displays-

Keeping emotions in check is very important and your relationship with the deceased as well as the family members of the deceased will determine the way to show your emotions. It is very important to avoid sympathetic tears and you should meet and greet the mourning family in a very calm and composed manner.
